The case stems from an incident on 7 March 2015 when a bomb was hurled at the Criminal Court’s parking lot and military officers arrested two individuals, Mahahin Khunthong and Yuttana Yenpinyo. Later, 12 more suspects were arrested and charged.
The incident happened shortly after the 2014 military coup and the military officers invoked martial law when they carried out the arrests. During the arrest, Mahahin was tortured by the police causing wounds on his face. The Court ruled on this case on 22 June 2022.
