Mark participated in a demonstration in Din Daeng on 20 August 2021. In an interview, he said that this was his first time to join a demonstration. He experienced being tear gassed by officers deployed at the Victory Monument and Din Daeng Intersection. He then joined subsequent demonstrations because he was angered by being tear gassed.
After being arrested following the demonstration in Din Daeng on 20 August 2021, the police found he possessed 29 Ping Pong bombs and one low-pressure explosive. He was subsequently charged with violation of the Emergency Decree and possession of explosives.
Mark was indicted at the Criminal Court on 15 March 2023. He was denied bail pending the trial citing the potential harsh punishment and flight risk. On 7 December 2023, the Criminal Court convicted Mark and sentenced him to four years imprisonment for possession of explosives without permission. He was sentenced to two months imprisonment for violating the Emergency Decree. His lengthy period of pretrial detention was part of why he pled guilty; he hoped that by doing so, the proceedings would end quickly.
As he pled guilty, the Court reduced his punishment by half, to two years and one month. There was no suspension of punishment.
Mark was released from the Bangkok Remand Prison after meeting the criteria for a pardon. He was released on 15 October 2024 after being imprisoned for 581 days.
